Typically £90-£120 for the first point then £60 per socket after that, assuming surface mounted wiring / boxes. NO VAT !

I may recommend extras such as a filter or broadband face plate, but you don't have to have them.

4 Where is the best place to put the phone sockets ?

5 Where is the best place to put the hub / Broadband router ?
The best place for your hub / router as far as the broadband speed concerned is in the Test socket, because this is where you will get the best Broadband speed. If you add a filtered face plate you get best possible B/B speed + keep all your existing sockets going.
The best location for your router as far as the Wifi signal is concerned is
- Small house doesn't really matter.
- Medium house , high up and central or near where the wifi will be used the most.
- Big house / hotel , have a second router see the Wireless faults page
6 Can you move main sockets ?
Yes.
I can do anything to do with telephones around the house to the same quality standard as B.T. More...
7 Do you have to make holes and mess ?
Not unless you want me to, on most installations the sockets can be surface mounted on an out side wall and the wire run neatly around the outside. A very small hole (7mm) is drilled for the wire and the dust is caught in a small bag stuck to the under side of the hole.
8 How much do you charge for a telephone fault ?
Typically £70 - £130 .
£50 call out + £50 Per hour + parts. NO VAT !
9 Can you speed up my broadband ?
Probably. If you have a complicated phone set up I.E. 4 sockets, 2 sky boxes and a burglar alarm all connected to the phone - Yes with the aid of a filtered face plate.
If you have only 1 socket then probably not, unless you have a noise fault see telephone faults.
10 How long does it take to put an extra phone point in ?
1.00 - 2.30 hours.
11 How long does it take to fix a fault ?
Well I like a challenge . How long is a piece of string?
Telephone faults are easier 30 mins - 2.30 hours.
Broadband faults can be more tricky 30 mins - 3.00 hours.
12 Are you a Trusted Trader ?
Yes . Derbyshire County Council run a scheme called Trusted Trader where customers can leave feed back about traders they have employed. They also make sure they have the relevant liability insurance etc. The traders leave a feed back card with every customer who can then, fill them in and post them back to the DCC Trusted Trader. The results can be viewed on the Trusted Trader web site.
13 Is there any guarantee ?
Yes all wiring installed by me is guaranteed for 1 year but doesn't cover faults on original wiring or subsequent damage.
14 Are you a big company ?
No , just me so far.
15 Is B.T. better ?
No , with connectaphone you get top quality wiring optimised for broadband and a better quality job by someone who cares and has 27 years experience (me) all at a third of the price of BT.
16 What areas do you cover ?
Belper, Derby, Nottingham, Matlock, Bakewell, Ashbourne, Burton on Trent, Chesterfield and anywhere in between.
17 I have RED CARE alarm system. Do you work on phone lines with this type of system ?
Yes just make sure I am aware so we can put the RED CARE on hold whilst I work on the line. Also RED CARE lines do benefit from a filtered face plate.
18 Which telephone service provider do you recommend ?
I do switch quite regularly at the moment Im with BT Fibre (for FTTP) I have no complaints with EE or BT.
19 Can you join fibre cables ?
Sorry, not yet, but I can extend the ethernet cabe between the fibre connection and the hub / router.
DO NOT USE CHESS ICT - me and my customers have had really bad experiences ! with £1080 get out clauses ! they have really bad reviews AVOID !
Typically £90-£120 for the first point then £60 per socket after that, assuming surface mounted wiring / boxes. NO VAT !
2 Are there any extra charges ?
I may recommend extras such as a filter or broadband face plate, but you don't have to have them.
3 How many phone sockets do I need ?
Have a think about the how many items you are going to connect to the phone line such as -
- The phone, most of my customers tend to have a cordless set of 2 or 3 phones this only requires 1 phone socket for the base unit, the rest just require a mains socket.
- Broadband router
- Life line
- Burglar alarm
- Loud telephone ringers and bells
- Office in the garden shed / out buildings
4 Where is the best place to put the phone sockets ?
Again you need to have a think about
- Where you want to keep your phone, router, cordless phone base-answer machine, loud bells, life line etc. The new Sky Q and Sky hd box's no longer require a phone line connection as the broadband connection has taken over this function.
- Is there a mains socket near by if you have cordless phone or a life line ?
- Do you want to see your answer machine as soon as you walk in the house ?
- If you only have one socket a good place could be behind the main T.V. because you can run the Phone , Broadband , Internet T.V. and Sky box all off the one socket (with the aid of a doubler on the filter).
5 Where is the best place to put the hub / Broadband router ?
The best place for your hub / router as far as the broadband speed concerned is in the Test socket, because this is where you will get the best Broadband speed. If you add a filtered face plate you get best possible B/B speed + keep all your existing sockets going.
